Welcome Stella Tanoos

Stella Tanoos has been with Senior Spirit since its inception and we are fortunate to have her technological skills. Stella maintains the membership database of Senior Spirit.

She will produce the newsletter, update the webpage and the Facebook page, and respond to all media inquiries. She enjoys researching genealogy and the history of Iberville Parish, with a special interest in the Atchafalaya Basin.

She is on the Board of the Iberville Museum in Plaquemine, Louisiana. In her spare time, she loves playing bridge.

Quilters

Joan Sharon, who hails from Avoyelles Parish and resides in Brusly, has been leading the quilters group for 13 years. Joan has taught quilting lessons at the WBR Senior Center and has attended the American Quilters Society Show in Paducah, Kentucky. Her group meets every Thursday at 9 AM at the West Baton Rouge Senior Spirit Center. Come learn a stitch or two!

Lucy Landry's Retirement Party

Lucy Landry will retire after 13 years of leading Senior Spirit.

Please join us in honoring her on Sunday, August 15 at 3pm at the Addis VFW Hall, located at 4453 Myhand Street, Addis, Louisiana.

Michelangelo Exhibit

An excursion to view the exhibition of Michelangelo- A Different View on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:00am at the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge.

You will enjoy the art of the Sistine Chapel on the ground rather than up in the air; what a very unique experience!
A group of 20 or more is needed to acquire the group rate of $12.50 per ticket.

IPhone & IPad Class at WBR Library

The tech skills classes for IPhones and IPads will be held once a month in the WBR Library Meeting Room from 10:00am-12:00pm on the following dates: August 11, September 8, October 13, November 10 and December 8. You are welcome to attend any of these classes.

Please Note - Senior Spirit Center Closure

The Senior Spirit Center will be closed August 30-September 5 while the building interior is painted. There will be NO classes, meetings, or activities during this time.
