200 Years of Steamboats on the Mighty Mississippi The exhibit features images of historic riverboats by Henry Norman during the last decades of the 19^th century when steamboats still dominated the mighty Mississippi. A centerpiece in the exhibit is a featurette of the famed New Orleans, the first steamboat to travel the Mississippi. The bicentennial of her maiden river voyage to Louisiana is celebrated this year, 2012.
